Many of my visa clients from India or Pakistan "do Europe" by spending 3 days in Amsterdam and then race down the motorway to spend 3 days in Paris and then are off again. But there is so much to see en route that I would advice a couple of extra days and not just race down a motorway.
For instance:
-Stop in the Dutch port town Rotterdam that is now largely rebuild after a firebombardment during WW2. A tour by ship around the harbours is fun.
- Drive by car from Alblasserdam to Vianen over the dyke along the Lek river and see the heartland of Holland with windmills, churches and a lot of cows (Kinderdijk).
- Spend an afternoon in Antwerp along the Schelde river and enjoy clams and a Belgian beer or have a walk around Gent.
- Pay your respect to the fallen in World War 1 and visit Ypres that was pounded to dust but rebuild again and visit Flanders Fields Museum or over the border in France be silent for a moment in Thiepval in the middle of the Somme battlefiels.
- Visit Laon and see a Gothic cathedral that is older than the Notre Dame in Paris.
